Area girls basketball results from Thursday evening

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics girls’ basketball team was looking for win number two in a row Thursday night in Lyle versus the Schaeffer Academy Lions in a Southeast Conference game, and guard Alana Rogne led three Athletics in double figures in scoring with 18 points as LP downed the Lions 51-41.

Besides Rogne’s 18 points, Avari Drennan added 11 points and six rebounds and Kearah Schafer added 10 points and nine boards in the winning efford.  Morgan Klankowski chipped in nine points, Kendahl Lewis added seven points, Kirsten Koopal tallied foru points and Olivia Heard scored one point for the Athletics, who raised their record to 3-9 in the Southeast Conferene and 5-16 overall on the season with the win.

Lyle/Pacelli returns to action tonight (Friday) in Houston versus the Hurricanes, with varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m.

The Grand Meadow Superlarks wrapped up a three-game road swing Thursday night in Mabel versus the Cougars of Mabel/Canton in the Southeast Conference, and guard McKenna Hendrickson drilled two 3-pointers on her way to 14 points to help lead the Larks to a 51-39 win.

Lexy Foster connected on three 3-point field goals on her way to 11 points, Kendyl Queensland chipped in nine points, Sydney Cotten added eight points, Lauren Queensland contributed five points and River Landers, who had been out with an injury returned to score four points for the Superlarks, who moved to 10-2 in the conference and 16-6 overall on the season with the win.

Grand Meadow is right back into action tonight at home versus Lanesboro, the leaders in the East Division of the Southeast Conference, with varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
