The Lyle-Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team played host to the Schaeffer Academy Lions, the leaders in the Southeast Conference’s East Division at All Saints Arena at Pacelli High School Monday evening, and Buay Koak and Mach Diang both scored in double figures to help lift the Athletics past the Lions 50-44.

Koak led the way for LP with 15 points, while Diang added 14.  Cole Walter and Jed Nelson each tallied nine points and Zach Bollingberg, who helped to lead the charge defensivley for the Athletics finished with four points to help Lyle/Pacelli to their 12th win in their last 14 games.

LP raised their record in the SEC to 8-3 and 12-5 overall with the win.  The Athletics will continue a five-game homestand Friday night at Pacelli against Kingsland, with the varisty tip-off scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

In Adams, the Southland Rebels played host to Dover/Eyota in a Three Rivers Conference matchup Tuesday evening, and the Eagles pulled away in the second half to hand the Rebels their third loss in a row 74-52.

Eli Wolff led Southland in scoring with 10 points, while Daniel Boe added eight points, Nick Boe tallied seven, Matt Mueller and Carter Schmitz each added five points, Harrison Hanna supplied four points and Reece Tapp, Josh Mullenbach and Noah Lamp added three apiece for the Rebels, who trailed by only four at the half at 36-32, but the Eagles outscored Southland 38-20 in the second half to pull away for the win.

With the loss, the Rebels are now 4-6 in Three Rivers Conference play and 7-8 overall on the season.  Southland returns to action tonight at home versus Grand Meadow in a non-conference game.  Varsity tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

The LeRoy/Ostrander Cardinals were home Tuesday evening for a non-conference game versus Kenyon/Wanamingo, and a second-half rally by the Cardinals fell short as the Knights held on for an 80-74 win.

Riley Olson lit up the scorebook for LeRoy/Ostrander with 33 points, while Dakota Stoopes scored 12 points, Chase Johnson added 10 poins, Tanner Olson chipped in nine points, Isaac Collier scored six points and Levi Royston added four for the Cardinals, who trailed Kenyon/Wanamingo 44-31 at the half.  The Cardinals outscored the Knights 43-36 in the second half, but their rally fell just a bit short.

LeRoy/Ostrander now sits at 7-11 overall on the season with the loss, and the Cardinals are back on the hardwood at home Thursday night versus Mabel/Canton.  Varsity tip-off is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
