The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys’ basketball team was in Alden Tuesday night for a non-conference game versus Alden/Conger, and Buay Koak scored 23 of his 27 points in the first half to help lead the Athletics past the Knights 66-31.

Sam Nelson was also in double figures in scoring for LP as he hit four 3-pointers on his way to 12 points.  Zack Bollingberg added eight points, Mach Diang chipped in with seven points and Jed Nelson scored six points for the Athletics, who led 39-17 at the half on their way to the win.  The win moves Lyle/Pacelli to 18-6 overall on the season, and the Athletics will close out the regular season on the road Thursday night in Rochester versus Schaeffer Academy, with the varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m.

Speaking of the Lions, they played host the the Hayfield Vikings in a non-conference game Tuesday evening, and Ethan Slaathaug scored 20 of his 27 points in the first half as Hayfield won a tough road game in Rochester 63-49.

Patrick Towey was also in double figures for the Vikings Tuesday night with 19 points, while Luke Dudycha and Isaac Matti each added six points in the win for Hayfield, who snapped a five-game winning streak for the Lions and moved to 20-5 overall on the season.  The Vikings, who won their fifth in a row with the victory will finish out the regular season with a Gopher Conference matchup in Mapleton Friday night against Maple River, with the varsity tip at 7:15 p.m.

In Adams, the Southland Rebels hosted the Bulldogs of Plainview/Elgin/Millville on Tuesday night in Three Rivers Conference tilt, and it was the Bulldogs pulling away in the second half to win 75-61.

Harrison Hanna was the lone Rebel in double figures with 16 points, while Nick Boe and Daniel Bon each added nine points, Matt Mueller tallied seven points, Reece Tapp added six points and Eli Wolff five for Southland, who were outscored 38-25 in the second half after trailing by only two 37-35 at the half.  Southland fell to 5-10 in the conference and 9-13 overall on the sesaon, and they will finish out the regular season with a conference game against Dover/Eyota Friday night, with the tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
