Albert Lea man felony drug possession and gross misdemeanor DWI charges in Mower County District Court

An Albert Lea man who was seen driving erratically by a Mower County Sheriff’s Deputy in a school zone in Lyle early on the morning of January 23rd, and who was later found with 2.8 grams of methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe after being stopped at the intersection of 7th Avenue and 21st Street Northeast in Austin has been charged in Mower County District Court.

44-year old Jason Patrick Tope was charged Friday with a felony for third-degree drugs, possession of a schedule I or II narcotic in a school, park or public housing zone, a felony for fifth-degree drug possession, a gross misdemeanor for third-degree DWI, refuse to submit to a chemical test of blood or urine as required by a search warrant and a petty misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia.  

Tope’s next appearance in Mower County District Court is scheduled for February 2nd.
