Agwa breaks own scoring record with 51 points as Austin Packers girls basketball team downs Mankato West 85-60

Another game, another scoring record for Ajiem Agwa!

The junior guard with the Austin Packers girls basketball team, who became the first female basketball player in Austin High School history to score 40 points in a game versus Rochester Mayo Thursday evening, and who also broke a program scoring record that had stood since 1993 was at it again in Mankato Saturday evening as she lit up the scoreboard with 51 points to help lead the Packers to an 85-60 win over the West Scarlets.

The Packers raced out to a 43-25 halftime lead on their way to the win, and besides Agwa’s historic game,  Marissa Shute was also in double figures in scoring Saturday evening with 13 points, Quinn Osgood and Addison Walsh each added seven points, Gracie Arndt scored four points, and Mackenzie Brede added three points in the win.

With the win, Austin is now 4-7 overall on the season and 3-5 in the Big 9 Conference, and the Packers return to action at Ove Berven Gym versus Red Wing in a conference tilt Tuesday evening,  with tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
