89 additional COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County Tuesday for cumulative total of 6,563

Mower County logged 6,351 confirmed and 212 probable COVID-19 cases Tuesday for a cumulative total of 6,563 since the onset of the pandemic, a jump of 89 from Monday, according to statistics released Tuesday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials added that 49,197 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 753,900 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation. 

Olmsted County recorded 18,423 cumulative cases Tuesday, a spike of 214 from Monday, Steele County reported 5,925 cumulative cases Tuesday, a rise of 45 from Monday and Freeborn County confirmed 4,936 cumulative COVID-19 cases Tuesday, up 48 from Monday.  Dodge County now has 2,776 cumulative cases, up 34 from Monday and Fillmore County recorded 2,505 cumulative COVID-19 cases Tuesday, up 45 from Monday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 6,583 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Tuesday for a cumulative total of 779,749, and they added that 22 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Monday to Tuesday for a cumulative total of 8,581 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 40,673 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 8,258 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
