42 additional COVID-19 cases recorded by MDH in Mower County Tuesday for cumulative total of 4,978
Mower County logged 4,837 confirmed and 141 probable COVID-19 cases Tuesday for a cumulative total of 4,978 since the onset of the pandemic, a jump of 42 from Monday, according to statistics released Tuesday by the Minnesota Department of Health. Health officials added that 44,066 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 612,600 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.
Olmsted County recorded 14,168 cumulative cases Tuesday, a jump of 125 from Monday, Steele County reported 4,212 cumulative cases Tuesday, a rise of 50 from Monday and Freeborn County confirmed 3,701 cumulative COVID-19 cases Tuesday, up 42 from Monday. Dodge County now has 2,042 cumulative cases, a rise of 27 from Monday and Fillmore County recorded 1,699 cumulative COVID-19 cases Tuesday, up 17 from Monday.
The Minnesota Department of Health reported 3,054 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Monday, an increase of 584 from the previous days’ total of 1,470 and a cumulative total of 629,354, and they added that three additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Monday to Tuesday for a cumulative total of 7,737 since the onset of the pandemic. A total of 34,051 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 6,920 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
