34 additional COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County Thursday for cumulative total of 5,739
Mower County logged 5,563 confirmed and 176 probable COVID-19 cases Thursday for a cumulative total of 5,739 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of 34 from Wednesday, according to statistics released Thursday by the Minnesota Department of Health. Health officials added that 46,558 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 668,700 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.
Olmsted County reported 16,191 cumulative cases Thursday, a jump of 89 from Wednesday, Steele County recorded 5,165 cumulative cases Thursday, up 35 from Wednesday and Freeborn County confirmed 4,360 cumulative COVID-19 cases Thursday, up 19 from Wednesday. Dodge County now has 2,475 cumulative cases, up 10 from Wednesday and Fillmore County reported 2,022 cumulative COVID-19 cases Thursday, up 14 from Wednesday.
The Minnesota Department of Health reported 2,434 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Thursday for a cumulative total of 694,320, and they added that 24 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Wednesday to Thursday for a cumulative total of 8,049 since the onset of the pandemic. A total of 37,344 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 7,584 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
