21 additional COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County Wednesday for cumulative total of 7,334

Mower County logged 7,093 confirmed and 241 probable COVID-19 cases Wednesday for a cumulative total of 7,334 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of 21 from Tuesday, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Pam Kellogg, Division Manager with Mower County Health and Human Services reported that there are currently 160 active COVID-19 cases in the county.  Health officials added that the total  positive cases for the duration of the pandemic, including reinfections, now total 915,942, and just over 879,000 people have now been determined as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 22,339 cumulative cases Wednesday, up 78 from Tuesday, Steele County reported 6,857 cumulative cases Wednesday, up 30 from Tuesday and Freeborn County confirmed 5,612 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, a rise of 17 from Tuesday.  Dodge County now has 3,611 cumulative cases, up 13 from Tuesday and Fillmore County recorded 3,053 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up 10 from Tuesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 3,580 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Wednesday for a cumulative total of 905,515, and they added that 100 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state Wednesday for a cumulative total of 9,482 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 46,177 COVID-19 patients in the state have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 9,182 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
