Austin city officials attend inaguration ceremony for Governor Walz

Tim Walz is officially the 41st governor of Minnesota after his swearing in Monday morning in St. Paul.  Austin Mayor Tom Stiehm and City Administrator Craig Clark were among those on hand for the ceremony, and Clark told KAUS News that he hopes the Governor’s vision of “One Minnesota” will ring true this legislative session and give cities like Austin a place at the table…

Clark went on to talk about what he and other city officials in Austin would like to see in an ideal legislative session…

Clark stated that he was encouraged with the Governor’s message of everyone coming together to tackle tough problems the state is facing head on….

In his inaugural address, Walz also emphasized the importance of focusing on education, healthcare and infrastructure during his administration. The state legislative session started Tuesday, and will end on May 20th.
