The 154th annual Mower County Free Fair continues today and this evening at the fairgrounds in Austin. One of the many highlights of the fair are the numerous 4-H projects on display, and Riley Hetzel and Gloria Hanson from the Enterprise 4-H club told KAUS that a number of 4-H activities took place before the start of the fair…
Hanson went on to state that her numerous projects will be keeping her very busy for the rest of the fair….
The Enterprise Club has approximately 90 members, and they are also celebrating their 85th anniversary this year as a club in Mower County. A celebration for the club will be held this week in the 4-H building. This year is also the 20th anniversary of the antique tractor show at the Mower County Fair, and Don Chappick, the Superintendent of the tractor show spoke with KAUS about how the show first started….
Today is Day Care Day at the Mower County Fair as the RAD Zoo will be in operation at various times from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. this afternoon and the carnival starts at 2:00 p.m. Annabelle Maher will be playing in fair square at 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. this afternoon and the 4-H meat goat show will be held in Crane Pavilion at 4:00 p.m.
Monarch magic will take place in the Game and Fish building from 4:00-7:00 p.m., and a parade will be held as per the norm on the grounds at 4:30. Carnival wristband rides will be held from 5:00-10:00 p.m. and Prairie Tours will be held in the south entrance of the Game and Fish building from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Go Kart racing will be taking place in the grandstand starting at 7:00 p.m. and Who Let the Mommas Out will be playing in fair square from 7:00-9:00 p.m. ARENA will be playing tonight in the beer garden starting at 8:00 p.m.
