Local representatives introduce and sponsor bill to create short-call substitute teacher pilot program

State District 27B Representative Patricia Mueller, a Repbulican from Austin recently introduced a bill during the current legislative session that would create a short-call substitute teacher pilot program for schools in the state.  The bill is being sponsored in the Minnesota Senate by five different Senators, including Gene Dornink of Hayfield from District 27, who stated to KAUS that the program would help solve a problem plaguing school districts around the state, particularly in rural areas….

The bill received its first reading in the House on February 4th and in the Senate on February 11th, and it has been referred to the Education Finance and Policy Committees in both houses of the legislature.
