Austin Packers wrestling competes in triangular in Mankato Saturday

The Austin Packers wrestling team traveled to Mankato Saturday for a triangular with the West Scarlets and Glencoe/Silver Lake, and although the Packers won seven of nine matches wrestled against West, five forefeits were the deciding factor in a 36-30 win for the Scarlets, and the Packers fell in their other match to GSL 52-16.
Head Coach Jacob Nelson stated that Nick Asmus at 106 pounds, Lathan Wilson at 132 and Nic Lambert-Ruble at heavyweight all had two wins on the day and wrestled well.
Austin will be back on the mat Friday for a triangular in Stewartville versus the Tigers and the Bulldogs of Grand Meadow/LeRoy/Ostrander/Southland, with the action set to start at 5:00 p.m.
