Austin Packers girls swimming and diving team falls to Rochester Century 89-84
The Austin Packers girls swimming and diving team took on Rochester Century in a virtual Big 9 meet Thursday at Bud Higgins Pool, and it was the Panthers coming away with an 89-84 win.
Austin’s 200 yard medley relay team of Molly Sheehan, Molly Garry, Ingrid Dolan Peterson and Oliva Walsh were second with a time of 2:09.38, Sheehan was fourth in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:33.11 and Garry was second for Austin in the 50 freestyle with a final tie of 26.88 seconds. Teammate Mackenzie Carter was fourth with a time of 28.48.
In the diving competition, Reese Norton was second with a final score of 149.99, Rachel Engelstad was third for Austin with a total of 145.50 and Maddy Tuttle was fourth for the Packers with a final tally of 141.16. Austin’s 200 freestyle relay team of Molly Garry, Sydney Tobak, Molly Sheehan and Madelynn Murley were second Thursday night with a time of 1:52.16, and the team of Ingrid Dolan Peterson, Alivia Hemry, rose Garry and Lucy Lagervall was fourth with a time of 2:02.49. Sheehan was third in the 100 breaststroke for the Packers with a time of 1:16.32, and the 400 freestyle relay team of Madelynn Murley, Lucy Lagervall, Mackenzie Carter and Anna Kossman were third with a time of 4:28.87.
Austin returns to action Thursday, September 17th against the Northfield Raiders, with the action set to start at 6:00 p.m.
