15-year old boy killed in pickup-Amish buggy collision in Fillmore County Tuesday evening

A 15-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident in Fillmore County Tuesday evening involving a pickup truck and an Amish buggy.

The Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office reported that the accident occurred just before 8:30 Tuesday evening on County Road 12, just east of the intersection with U.S. Highway 52.  A 39-year-old man from Hastings was westbound in a pickup truck on County Road 12 when he struck the rear of the buggy that was traveling in the same direction.  

Authorities stated that the 15-year-old boy was the sole occupant of the buggy.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
