11 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County Wednesday for cumulative total of 5,240

Mower County logged 5,085 confirmed and 155 probable COVID-19 cases Wednesday for a cumulative total of 5,240 since the onset of the pandemic, up 11 from Tuesday, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials added that 44,876 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and nearly 631,800 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 14,945 cumulative cases Wednesday, a rise of 24 from Tuesday, Steele County reported 4,558 cumulative cases Wednesday, also up 24 from Tuesday and Freeborn County confirmed 3,955 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up 11from Tuesday.  Dodge County now has 2,213 cumulative COVID-19 cases, up nine from Tuesday and Fillmore County recorded 1,786 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up three from Tuesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 1,436 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Wednesday for a cumulative total of 651,388, and they added that six additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Tuesday to Wednesday for a cumulative total of 7,817 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 35,323 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 7,183 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
