11 additional COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County for second straight day for cumulative total of 4,625

Mower County logged 4,500 confirmed and 125 probable COVID-19 cases Friday for a cumulative total of 4,625 since the onset of the pandemic, up 11 for the second straight day, according to statistics released Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials stated that 41,822 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 564,300 people have been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County now has 13,141 cumulative cases, a rise of 19 from Thursday, Steele County recorded 3,827 cumulative cases, up seven from Thursday and Freeborn County reported 3,402 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up three from Thursday.  Dodge County confirmed 1,825 cumulative cases Friday, up six from Thursday and Fillmore County logged 1,547 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, also up six from Thursday.  

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 1,453 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Friday for a cumulative total of 585,677, and they added that 12 additional COVID-19 deaths were recorded in the state from Thursday to Friday for a cumulative total of 7,216 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 30,855 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 6,285 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
